Frank Buckley was born and domiciled in Cheshire. He was a member of B Company. According to a Roll of Honour, published in the book 'When dragons flew' (Stuart Eastwood, Charles Gray and Alan Green) Buckley was reported missing on 18 september 1944. He was given a field burial near Van Hofwegen Laundry at the Ploegseweg in Oosterbeek.
Corporal Pinkney witnessed private Manchester and private Buckley being killed at the same time by a mortar bomb, in the area between Veerweg, Westerbouwing and the gasworks.
