George Seymour Baxter was a son of John and Dinah Seymour Baxter of Paisley, Renfrewshire.
Baxter served with C Squadron. On 17 september 1944 Baxter was the first pilot of a Horsa glider (Chalk number 365). He left England from Tarrant Rushton airfield. The Horsa crashlanded and overturned at the landing on Landingzone-Z and Baxter was killed. The Horsa was loaded with 2 jeeps from A Troop of the Reconnaissance Squadron.
